Care during your pregnancy

Care during your pregnancy, may be all that you require from me, that’s ok. You do not need to contact a GP to see me, you can self-refer, just contact me and we can start.
During our antenatal appointments I will focus on providing you with a safe space so you may feel heard and supported at each visit. I will check on your physical and emotional wellbeing, checking your body, heart and soul are coping well with the pregnancy. I will measure your growing belly and listen to your baby’s heartbeat every visit.  In my role as a Private Midwife I may provide you with referrals for blood tests and ultrasounds, and a prescription should you require. Whether you plan to birth at home or hospital, I work collaboratively with the local hospital and will keep them periodically updated of how your pregnancy is going. During your pregnancy my aim is empower and inform you to make the choices that suit you and your family, for the imminent birth and the meeting of your baby.

Woman Centred Care means YOU are at the centre of this journey

Postnatal Care

Care after the birth of your baby

As your midwife, I can provide care for you and your baby for up to six weeks after the birth. I will visit you at home, with equipment to monitor you and your baby’s wellbeing, checking on your physical, emotional and mental health, and weighing and checking up on baby’s transition and milestones, documenting in their little red book issued at birth. I am experienced in breastfeeding support and will guide you where needed.  In the event I believe you or your baby need assistance beyond my scope of practice, I will advise accordingly. My aim is to assist you to be as comfortable and trusting of yourself and your baby during your transition into motherhood.

I believe in the intuitive nature of parenting, and feel honoured to
witness women become mothers
to each new baby with
choice, confidence and belief.

Homebirths

Care during;
Pregnancy, Birth & Postnatal

Homebirths

Care during;
Pregnancy, Birth & Postnatal

For some families, birthing their baby at home feels like the most natural option, and I am happy to support you and your family in making this happen.  All homebirths require a second midwife, this will be discussed during our first appointment, as will any limitations of practice and boundaries that need to be recognised for safe practice.  Included in the Homebirth package; antenatal and postnatal care, on call birth support, birth education and breastfeeding information to suit you and your partner, hire of birth pool & liner, equipment and medication, plus four hours of care at home post-birth and ongoing home visits for 6 weeks. At the end of our time together, I offer you a little ceremony at home, this ceremony sees the end of this transition and a bringing you back from the expansiveness of birth.
Birthing at home is not a new concept but, after a century of birth being placed in hospital, many families are choosing to safely birth at home once again.

May the exquisiteness
of birth happen in your own home
